Canada shows poor performance in regard to innovation

Regardless of generous R&D financial assistance from federal and provincial sources, Canadian companies perform poorly in R&D spending and have difficulties in turning their research into viable commercial products and services. Ranking on place 13 in comparison to its international peers, Canada received its best mark (B, 2nd out of 15) on firm density, an index covering the number of new company creations:
